Have you ever been banned from our servers?
No.
Why do you want to join the BoS?
IC- I've been convinced of the idea behind the Brotherhood. The idea that we must use Old World technology to restore the wasteland to what it once was is more agreeable than the idea the we need to use old world technology to advance and end up destroying ourselves once more. It's agreeable and it'd be nice to enter an area of the wasteland where I can escape the normal demons of the wasteland and join with a mass of brothers and sisters with the same idea. Exterminate the scum of the wastelands and build from there. ~Semper Invicta
OOC- Fallout 3 bred us to love the BoS, even if it wasn't the BoS that followed their main mission. I took the bait and now I love the idea of the BoS (East and West Coast). I also believe that it'd expand the role-play quite a bit and add more excitement to the RP I currently experience.
Please provide a 10 /me minimum passive RP for your character (ERP will result in an immediate denial)
**Scavenger walks into the general store, thirsty for the taste of a cold Nuka-Cola.
**Salesman greets the familiar customer with a usual but friendly “Howdy!”
**Scavenger responds with a “Hello” and walks up to the counter, placing 12 bottle-caps on the counter and states “A Nuka-Cola please."
**Salesman nods and says “Anything interesting happening out in the Wasteland today?”
**Scavenger says “Not really, just finding a few decent pieces of loot here and there, watching the Brotherhood patrols throw down with the Mutants. Nothing fantastic.”
**Salesman says “Ah, got anything interesting to barter? I've always wanted to see some of the things you've collected but I never really have gotten the chance to talk to you before.”
**Scavenger says “Sure, anything specific you might be looking for?”
**Salesman ponders the question, and decides on what he'd wanted to look at, stating "Yeah, I'd like a firearm for self defense, ya' know?".
**Scavenger nods, pulling a few handguns from a bag he was carrying, setting them on the counter of the store. He then stated "Alright, I've got a .44, a .357, a .223, and a 10mm."
**Salesman looks over the weapons, pointing towards the .223 pistol and asking "What's your price on that one?"
**Scavenger picks up the .223, in his left and and rubbing his beard with the right hand. He then sets it back on the counter and looks up at the Salesman, stating "Gimme an offer. Worst I can say is 'No'."
**Salesman ponders the answer, and states "I've got 104 caps on hand, and any Nuka-Colas you come in for in the future can be considered 'On the House'.
**Scavenger considers the deal, and nods his head slowly, agreeing to the deal.
Please provide a 10 /me minimum combat RP for your character (Rape ERP will result in an immediate denial)
**Scavenger un-slings his Hunting Rifle back, sliding in a mag with a loud, heavy sigh as he tries to calm himself down from the thought of what he’s about to do. He stands up and begins to approach a rock, hiding behind it. He then peeks around the rock at the Deathclaw standing on the road leading to the town he needed to reach, questioning his fate as to why this had to be the only way into town without risking his life climbing up large cliffs.
**Deathclaw stands there, scanning the area for any signs of a threat, picking his teeth with the large claw attached to his "fore-finger". It turns and sees a man’s head poking from around a rock and begins to approach the rock, so he begins to walk towards the man.
**Scavenger quickly slides back behind the rock, knowing he’s been seen. He slowly flicks the safety off and prepares himself for what may be his last battle. He hears the crunch of the gravel under the Deathclaw's feet getting louder and louder. He then peeks around the rock only to meet face to face with a deathclaw, the scent of its breath making the man feel as if he were about to die at that moment. He then quickly moves away from the rock, firing at the deathclaw.
**Deathclaw receives the hit with a slight stumble and a loud roar, becoming infuriated at the attacks of the man. It then begins to charge the man, his claws opened wide as he closes the distance between them. It then takes a swipe at the man, tearing the cloth of the man's trench-coat and leaving a large visible mark
.
**Scavenger backs off with a quick backwards jog and fires twice more, both shots slowly draining his hope and causing him to think that his attempt to fight was futile and foolish.
**Deathclaw roars once more as it is hit twice more, it then charges the man once again and grabs him, lifting him into the air, preparing an upwards strike.
**Scavenger drops his hunting rifle as he is grabbed and lifted. He then yells a loud "Shit!" and pulls a rusted combat knife from a leather holster strapped to his leg and slams it into the Deathclaw's wrist attempting to free himself.
**Scavenger rolls 98/100
**Deathclaw rolls 0/100
Scavenger[LOOC]::> lol r3kt
Deathclaw[LOOC]::> Fcuk u.
**Deathclaw
drops the man on the ground, reeling its arm back at the pain of the blade in his wrist. It then gives a pained roar and attempts to slam its claws into the man squirming for his rifle on the ground.
Scavenger rolls 28/100
Deathclaw rolls 29/100
Scavenger[LOOC]::> wtf gay
**Deathclaw barely manages to land the hit, its claws clipping the man's leg, causing the man to shout in pain.
**Scavenger raises his rifle and attempts to fire only to notice that nothing had happened. The gun had jammed.
**Scavenger pulls the bolt and attempts to force the projectile free via multiple whacks to the gun.
Scavenger rolls 99/100
Deathclaw rolls 56/100
Deathclaw[LOOC]::> Fuck
Scavenger[LOOC]::> lol
**Scavenger clears the jam and closes the bolt, chambering the last round. He then fires at the deathclaw once more, praying it would be the killing blow.
**Deathclaw is hit in the throat, causing it to begin slowly bleeding out. It then attempts to bite the man as a last ditch attempt to kill him.
Deathclaw rolls 56/100
Scavenger rolls 72/100
**Scavenger avoids the attack, watching as the Deathclaw hit the ground next to him. He then removes a .44 magnum and fires three rounds into the Deathclaw's head, surely killing him.
Backstory (4 paragraph minimum)
(Alternate Vault 70 story)
Adrian Halverson was born in the clean conditions of Vault 70, 10 years before the vault was to be opened. He grew up generally happy with life, both of his parents raising him as if he should be preparing for a lifetime in the vault. As Adrian aged, he moved on to become intelligent enough to suffice but never really feeling as if he wanted to move into a field which required him to do a lot of work. Rather, he decided he wanted to be a vault guard, fighting for whatever justice may be needed in the Vault, feeling everyone deserved to have the same wonderful experiences he had. Life hadn't really changed for him until he had reached the age of 10, when the vault door had opened. When the world had seemed to end.
Stepping out into the wasteland had what Adrian imagined the same effect of what stepping into the classroom to take the G.O.A.T for the first time was like-pure dread. A parent holding either hand and a large computer-like device he had no experience with hanging from his arm, Adrian felt truly scared for the first time in his life. He and his parents were in the middle of the small convoy created by the other members of the vault, walking in a large group to who-knows-where in a place as familiar to him as the water purification chamber. It had only been a matter of time before Adrian learned about the wastes and its demons, when a pack of tribals had discovered the group of vault dwellers wandering through the wasteland, clueless as to the danger they were in. It started with the loud shouts towards the front of the group, the sound of a yell and a scream of death as someone's heart has been pierced with what looked like the body part of an animal or large insect. The group then split, and there were yells all around as the dwellers soon found out they were now surrounded. Panic and fear soon quickly spread as they dweller's situation got more and more desperate, causing mass hysteria which would lead to the next section of Adrian's life. As the assault proceeded, Adrian's parents had both been killed, leading Adrian to face an assault from all direction by the local natives. About a half an hour later, Adrian found himself on the ground, lying next to the bodies of many of the other dwellers he had known for his entire life whilst many of the remaining dwellers had ran off to unknown locations. After the dust had settled, the group of nearly 10 tribals approached, looking for any survivors, only to find Adrian lying in the dirt, crying. Not being entirely sadistic, the savages took him home and raised him as their own, teaching him the language and adapting him to the lifestyle, soon aiding him to understand why they had attacked the dwellers and the matter of survival and moral that went down that day.
Growing up with the new tribals, he learned the art of fighting, and eventually became a young but well known warrior, quickly picking up the skills it required to take down caravans and other large groups of people in a single attack. Whilst still holding onto the only remnant of his former life in the vault, his pip-boy, he fell in love with the idea that there was a whole world out there, albeit destroyed or not, that he'd love to explore some day. One day, whilst scouting out a caravan that promised ripe for future attack, he over-stepped his boundaries and was spotted by a member of the "Happy Trails" caravan. Being mistaken for a lost child, he was taken up by the caravan, where he then began a 5-month long journey to a place he had only heard of in the Vault-"Oklahoma". The journey was long, filled with many boring and many exciting moments that taught Adrian many things about life about the world he was living in now. Raids became a frequent part of his life, as well as card games such as caravan and poker. Caravan stories had been passed around, along with many jokes that had been picked up a long the way. Nearing the border of New Mexico, Adrian's caravan was redirected after word had been received of New Mexico being far worse as far as terrain and raids go compared to going through Colorado and the top of Oklahoma.
Reaching the top of Oklahoma with a recently discovered person who had tagged along with the caravan, they saw a shanty town in the distance with what appeared to be a large group of raiders near it. After multiple futile attempts to warn the rest of the caravan, they enter the town only to be met with the raiders that had been spotted a while back. Despite friendly negotiations, the raiders began opening fire upon the caravan, causing Adrian and his new friend Brad to sprint towards the nearest building, slamming the door open and diving to the floor. They'd then stand up slowly, weapons ready. Adrian then checks his surroundings, spotting a man sitting at the public terminal of what appears to be a library. He then proceeds to you "Yo!? What the hell are you doing man? Shit's going down outside and you're sitting in here doing nothing!?" He'd then only be met with a response of "I'm actually doing something mate, obviously. Secondly, the raiders are consistent here. It's not an unusual ordeal sadly." Adrian would then just give a loud "Fuck!" and begin thinking of what to do. He'd then state to Brad "I think we should just lay low until they're gone, scavenge what we can after-wards, and figure out what to do from there." After a while of waiting, Brad checked outside to find that the raiders had cleared out, and there was nothing but the bodies of the fellow caravaneers and their brahmin. Later on he'd talk to this new stranger and learn the ways of the town and the things that happened there, the raiders coming every 2-3 weeks, etc. After a year of living with this new friend, they learned that he was part of a family of pre-war Swedish migrants, whom had always been kept inside in fear of him becoming a raider or the like, furthermore supporting the idea that he jokes with himself and others quite frequently because of the little contact he had as a child. Together they devised a contingency plan for if the raiders ever decided to take the town. This plan would be placed into full effect once the raiders had decided it was time. The trio came up with the idea that they'd head into Texas and market themselves as a "mercenary" group to find parts out in the wasteland or assassinating targets.
After having escaped into Texas, the trio found themselves looting factory buildings and such for any decent equipment so they could follow through with their plan. Eventually, after a few weeks of looting, they managed to obtain decent equipment to begin their careers as prospectors/mercenaries. Living off the land and completing jobs for many people became a part of daily life, allowing them to experience things they've never experienced before, and some things they never want to experience again. Because the group was always traveling, it was almost by chance that they happened to come across a Brotherhood Scribe accompanied by two Knights. Almost as if a match made in Heaven, the scribe and Zach(The Swedish Guy) soon found they had very similar interests when it came to technology, and so a semi-professional business was formed between the trio and the Brotherhood, whom had sent the three out to search for a specific piece of technology they lacked for some task or another. Soon after recovering the technology for the Brotherhood and proving their worth, the trio was attacked by raiders from the shanty town who had tracked and hunted them. After having all of their equipment stolen, they fled to the nearest town in hopes of receiving assistance from the Brotherhood lest they die horribly elsewhere in the wasteland.
